New York, London, and Japan have all been done, now it is Washington's turn. The BVE train simulator program, by Mackoy, has had many great routes for those cities and many more made. I have always wanted to have my own simulation of a WMATA Line and I am offering it to the public as well. These routes are as accurate as the BVE program will allow. Many parts are from memory and I have attempted to recreate those as best as possible as well. The only route under construction now is the Red Line. When it is released, based on its success, I will decide if I will make any other routes. In order to use these routes, you must have the BVE program, which is available for download at Mackoy's site. The program is free.
Version 1.6a is the full length Shady Grove to Glenmont Route. Versoin 1.6b is the short-turn Grosvenor to Silver Spring route. Both Version 1.6a and Version 1.6b can be run with the Rohr, pre-GOH Rohr, 2000 Series Breda, Breda Rehab, 5000 Series CAF, or 6000 Series Alstom trainsets.

All available trains, as well as the Red Line route itself are available by clicking on the link above. The night version of the Red Line is not available for download at this time. Sorry.
Some thoughts before downloading:
1. BVE routes take a great deal of time and effort to produce. This route is not as detailed as some others available for download. If you want to create more objects or other items for me to use, feel free to e-mail me and we can discuss.
2. BVE trainsets take even more time and effort to produce. If you wish to provide a trainset panel that is more realistic in your opinion, feel free to e-mail me and we can discuss. The train is programmed with the real acceleration rates, decelleration rates, and weights, so it handles just like the real thing.
3. I am no longer in the Washington, DC area on a full time basis (as of August 2005). Therefore, I do not expect to have the time in the near future to make any other routes. I will consider hosting files of BVE work for WMATA at my discretion.
4. If you have any questions, comments, complaints, or constructive criticisms, I am willing to read them at oren@orenstransitpage.com. I am not willing to read unconstructive criticism that relates to any of the three points stated above, or questions about future productions that can be answered by any of the three points stated above.
