|  Free ride for Branch Avenue station openings. |  This tunnel which starts at the south end of the Huntington Yellow Line Station was built as a provision for an extension of this line to the south. The tunnel ends are built so they can easily be removed. Currently, the tunnels are used for layups. |
 While the Dulles line is far off into the future, some people were thinking about it. The pier next to the eastbound track is for a flyover for Dulles trains which would merge just east of the West Falls Church Station (from where this photo was taken). I may post a diagram of two possible ways the Dulles Line will merge with the Orange Line at a later date. |  Metro clearly is planning ahead. Although you might think they wouldn't have more than 5 panels for the front of the train to indicate the line color (one for each existing line), there is definitely a WHITE one, I have seen it several times. This was taken through the cab door, the operator was using it to keep light out of the cab.
