| Syracuse, NY The Central New York Regional Transportation Authority was created in 1970. CNY Centro began operation in 1972. The transportation district of CNYRTA consists of the counties of Onondaga, Cayuga and Oswego. Four other counties - Cortland, Jefferson, Madison and Oneida - may join the district by a vote of the respective county legislature. Centro has a fleet of 207 buses, 537 full and part time employees, and serves approximately 41,000 passengers each day. For more information, please visit www.centro.org.
