RER The RER (Réseau Express Régional or Regional Express Network) is comprable to a North-American commuter rail system, connecting Paris to many of its suburbs. RER is jointly operated by the RATP and SNCF. The sections in central Paris are mostly underground, and the rest of the system runs in preestablished railway right of ways. There are 5 trunk lines, each of which have numerous branches. |
