Like other European countries, Poland is home to a number of tram systems. One of the largest ones is in Krakow; it has been in operation since 1901 and covers the city so extensively that there are very few buses in that city. Also noteworthy, the Krakow tram fleet includes many second hand trams from Vienna and Nuremberg. Poland also has a national rail system, and while it is electrified, it does not have any high speed train services like in many Western European countries.
